Mariusz Kozie\u0142<\/strong> started his organ studies in 2017 at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice<\/strong> (Poland) in prof. Witold Zaborny\u2019s class. He obtained a bachelor\u2019s degree in 2020 and in 2022 a master\u2019s degree diploma with distinction<\/strong> in Krzysztof Lukas\u2019 organ class. In September 2024 Mariusz Kozie\u0142 began his studies in Codarts in Rotterdam<\/strong> in prof. Zuzana Ferjen\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1\u2019s organ class. In addition he developed his skills during organ interpretation and improvisation masterclasses<\/strong>, among others with Franz Danksagm\u00fcller, Pieter van Dijk, Thierry Escaich, Julian Gembalski, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Thomas Lac\u00f4te, Giampaolo di Rosa and Daniel Roth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

From September, due to winning the competition, Mariusz will take up the position of Junior Organist-in-Residence<\/strong> at the Pieterskerk in Leiden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He took part in many organ competitions. His notable achievements include: 3rd prize<\/strong> at the Rijnmond Muziekprijs in Rhoon (The Netherlands) in March 2025, 1st prize<\/strong> at the Improvisation Competition during the 21st Petr Eben International Organ Competition in Opava (Czech Republic) in 2022, 2nd prize <\/strong>at the Interpretation Competition during the 11th Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck International Organ Music Competition in Gda\u0144sk (Poland) in 2021, 3rd prize <\/strong>during the 7th Academic Organ Competition Romuald Sroczy\u0144ski in memoriam<\/em> in Pozna\u0144 (Poland) in 2020 and 1st prize<\/strong> during the Organ Music Competition at the 30th International Religious Music Festival in Rumia (Poland) in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, he was awarded the prestigious 'M\u0142oda Polska’ scholarship<\/strong>, granted by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

As a member of Colloque des Claviers<\/em> <\/strong>ensemble, along with Aleksandra Gawro\u0144ska-Kozie\u0142<\/strong> he performs in instrumental combinations which cover the entire keyboard instruments spectrum, including Organ Duet, Piano Duet and Piano & Organ.<\/strong> In 2022 they won 1st prize <\/strong>during the Concours Gaston Litaize 2022<\/em> in Saint-Maur-des-Foss\u00e9s in France, 4th prize<\/strong> during the International BTHVN Wien Competition 2022 in category \u201censemble\u201d and in 2021 they won 1st prize <\/strong>in category \u201censemble\u201d during The 5th International Moscow Music Competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from performing activities, Mariusz is also a composer. His pieces have won awards, e.g. during the 6th Polish Composition Competition in Wejherowo in 2019 (1st prize<\/strong>) and during the 5th International Composition Competition Fide et Amore<\/em> in \u017bory (Poland) in 2020 (distinction diploma<\/strong>). The first publication of his pieces is currently in preparation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
